In Pakistan, the most common challenge faced by the construction industry is delay in project delivery because of bad management, with the delay the obvious raising factor is over cost, which is directly proportional to the time and if the project is somehow managed to deliver on time then the most probable drawback faced is the inferiority or bad quality. Delay in project root the client/owner to bear the capital loss, less productivity, lack of rentable facilities and depend on existing facilities etc. but for the contractor, delay in the project leads to increased labor cost, extended work duration, higher cost for equipment and materials etc.
Project Performance can be enhanced by utilizing Project Management tools and techniques. Project Management splits the project into five (5) stages, which allows to measure and control the quality, cost as well as the time frame. The main reason behind splitting large projects into stages is because it helps to gain more control and greater transparency regarding project deliverables throughout the whole project cycle.
